Tim and Mycah had an end-of-summer date night. Tim and I had been on one too many dates lately, and she finally asked when it would be her turn. She wanted to dress up, of course. When Tim came home she told him he should keep his tie on. So he asked where she wanted to go for dinner. She replied, "McDonald's." It would be funny enough in itself, what with the tie and fancy dress. But the kicker is that Mycah doesn't eat one thing off the McDonald's menu except a plain McGriddle. We've never bothered to take them for a meal other than breakfast. However, McDonald's is one of Daddy's favorites; his go-to place when Mama and the kids are out of town. So he was thrilled! Yummy to his tummy and light on his wallet. They got in the car and headed to the closest McDonald's when Mycah revealed her true plan. "Daddy, isn't there a McDonald's near Crabtree Mall? Maybe we can go there. Maybe we can go to the Disney store after dinner." Ah-ha. Well Daddy got his McDonald's (Mycah ate maybe one fry) and Mycah got to spend as much time as she wanted on the "girl side" of the Disney store.
And for the dancing...Mycah started ballet! She was excited beyond words as we purchased her leotard, tights and ballet shoes. They can wear a skirt if they want to. I thought it was so cute that they put "optional" on the dress code. Please show me a 3-5 year-old girl who would choose not to wear a skirt/tutu in ballet class. Mycah actually wears a pink wrap skirt that I wore when I took ballet. It was a sweet moment for me to watch her in her first ballet class wearing my skirt. I have deep and wonderful memories of dance classes with some of my best friends. I pray the same for her now.
She loves it!
Our babysitter Lyndsae is her teacher! That is so fun for Mycah. I can't wait for a recital!
