The Making of a Big Girl Room

Mycah has been asking for a while now when she was going to get a big-girl bed. So we've been planning a new room for several weeks. We got Aunt Kim's old twin bed from Nana & Grandad's attic. SisE painted the dark wooden spindle headboard white. We picked out bedding and paint samples. Finally the day came for the big project. Both kids were packed up and sent to Nana & Grandad's for the night while Mama, Daddy and SisE got to work.

Before:

And after:
We are going to build some kind of frame to go around the scripture on the wall. That's the only unfinished project.
The walls are "ballet slippers". Pink (or purple) was the requested color. I am quite pleased with the results. This color is very pale and looks so sweet on the walls.

"Your colors are pink and pink."

"My colors are blush and bashful."

We picked up the kids just a bit ago and the results brought all smiles. It's perfect!
Brother thinks so too. This was the first place he went...boys.

Here's hoping to many hours of blissful play, gentle sharing, quiet reading and hours of sound sleep. (Can one makeover do that?!)
