Birthday Boy

Our little buddy is 2!
We started the birthday festivities with cupcakes at preschool. Caleb is in a class with all girls. We are not alarmed...yet.
Then on the afternoon of his birthday we had Hailee and Hannah over to play and eat spaghetti with us. Somehow when Tim got home Caleb and Hannah greeted him at the door in t-shirts and diapers. (Maybe we should think about being alarmed?!)
Over the weekend the family came to help us celebrate with pizza and a Lightning McQueen birthday cake. There was no need for us to come up with party entertainment...we had Mycah. I do think she was more excited about the party than Caleb. He wasn't sure what to do with the attention, but Mycah was. She assessed, organized and led the crowd all afternoon, including orchestrating the opening of presents. To say she is a natural leader is almost an understatement. She had all 12 people (from age 2 to 93) doing Ring Around The Rosey.
We were blessed to celebrate all the things we love about Caleb with our family. He has an infectious laugh, unending energy, a love for all things "boy" and he adores his sister...not to mention the dimples, big blue eyes and curly blond hair! The handsome little mister is showing his independence (some might call it a stubborn streak), his creativity and his patience to solve a problem. His vocabulary and comprehension grow every day. He is obsessed with the movie Cars, Thomas the train, building and knocking down, baseball, running, and climbing. He amazes us, delights us, confounds us and yes, often wears us out. But we'll definitely keep him!

What a lovable and loving little guy you and we are blessed to have. Thanks for sharing the special occasion. (Not sure which noise has lingered with you most - the McQueen sounds, the Mater sounds, or possibly "Hoy Diggity Dog". At least the big balloon was quiet this time!)
