A Princess Unplugged

One of Mycah's favorite shows is called Super Why and one of the characters is Princess Pea. In addition to Princess Pea, there are several other Princesses in Mycah's life: Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Snow White. And on top of that, Mycah adores Fancy Nancy. We have several Fancy Nancy books from the library, and I'm not sure if Wake County Public Libraries will ever see them again. So anyway, last week after watching an episode of Super Why, Mycah was playing Princess. I asked her if she would be interested in trading in her plugs for a special present. "What special present?" she asked. "A wand, a Princess crown and a necklace." Her face lit up like Christmas. Of course she agreed. But I had to make sure she understood the deal she was making. She would be throwing away her plugs for good. She nodded her head and looked around for the present. OK. This is it. We had her put all her plugs in a bag and throw them in the trash can. Then she got to open the present. Oh the joy!

I am happy to report that the deal took. She has been swishing and flicking around the house for a week straight. She asked for her plug about 3 times the next day, but I reminded her what we did with them and that was that. Mycah is plug-free! It's a good thing my friends.
